Principal Engineer II
Mr. Haug joined Roberson and Associates as a Principal Engineer II in April 2012 and has 42 years' experience in the industry. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has worked primarily on projects related to spectrum management for the U.S. Department of Defense and various commercial clients. His work has leveraged his keen interest in the visualization of data and numerous geospatial tools and mapping technologies, as well as a deep background in radio technology and radio propagation.
Prior to joining Roberson and Associates, John worked at Motorola in both research and product development roles for over 36 years. He was a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Motorola Solutions where he was involved in physical layer development for the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) air interface. He worked on all aspects of mobile telephone design, numerous digital signaling projects, contributed to the development of Motorola’s first cable telephone product, and developed link level and system level simulation tools for many digital cellular systems. He also represented Motorola in several standards organizations.
Mr. Haug earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. He has also completed course work beyond his M.S.E.E. He has 5 U.S. patents and has 11 publications, including co-authoring an encyclopedia article on Mobile Technology.
