Ken Crisler
Principal Engineer III
Mr. Crisler joined Roberson and Associates in October 2020. He has 38 years of industry experience and is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Previously, Mr. Crisler was a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff and Director of Modem Software with Motorola Mobility. During his time with Motorola, his extensive experience included all phases of wireless communication technology development, including research, pre-commercial prototyping and product commercialization. He held technical leadership roles with Land Mobile Products Sector Research, Motorola Labs and Motorola Mobility. While with Motorola Labs, he led research labs in Chicago and in the United Kingdom. His areas of expertise include communication system engineering, air interface design, wireless packet data protocols and modem software. He has contributed to the development of products for Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN/Nextel), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA), Long-Term Evolution (LTE), and Fifth Generation New Radio (5G NR). He served as Chairman of Working Group 1 of the Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF) and was a Patent Committee chairman and/or member for many years.
Mr. Crisler holds 31 US and international patents, including one that was awarded a Business Patent of the Year. His other awards include Motorola Science Advisory Board Associate, Dan Noble Fellow and Outstanding Performance in Global Standards.
Mr. Crisler earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
